Karlach approves of helping people out. Due to her experiences in Avernus, she distrusts devils. The actions and choices listed on this page will raise or lower Karlach's Approval.

  • When you first meet Dammon while already having a piece of infernal iron, Karlach will ask if she can give it to the smith - agree. Karlach approves +10

  • Tell Zevlor (or Asharak if Zevlor is dead) that it was you who led the horde to the grove, and then that this place belongs to the Absolute Karlach disapproves -10
    • OR That the horde is coming, led by the drow - and you are with them Karlach disapproves -10
    • OR, Playing as The Dark Urge The Dark Urge, tell Zevlor that the goblin horde is yours. Karlach disapproves -1

Forest

In the outer camp:

  • Yell "Boo, get off the stage!" at Volo as he performs.
  • Tell Tracker Grikka that you that you will get answers from prisoners. Karlach disapproves -1
  • Playing as a Dwarf Dwarf, ask Grikka to save a piece of dwarf meat for you. Karlach disapproves -1
  • Playing a tour of chicken-chasing, tell the Owlbear Cub to run to the posts, using Speak with Animals
  • After defeating Crusher, choose the option to finish him. (triggers a fight with the entire camp)

In the Shattered Sanctum:

  • Tell Torturer Spike to let you show him how it's done. Karlach disapproves -1
    • OR, playing as a Drow Drow, tell him that you don't try, you get results. Karlach disapproves -1
    • Then torture Liam yourself. Karlach disapproves -1

Dealing with Orin's guises:

  • If Orin is impersonating the Dying Stone Lord Thug, say that you'll enjoy watching him die slowly Karlach disapproves -1
  • If Orin is impersonating Gyldro Angleiron, tell her you would kill someone close to you without hesitation.Karlach disapproves -1
  • If Orin is impersonating Fist Rowan, tell her that both sides need a lesson Karlach disapproves -1

When passing Zethino's trial, choose answers:

  • Agree to become allies with Gortash and slay Orin Karlach disapproves -1

Talking to Karlach after the coronation:

  • If you agreed to become allies with Gortash:
    • When Karlach asks whether you intend an alliance, answer that it is your decision, not hers Karlach disapproves -5
    • OR Say you'll do whatever to save the city, and then that Gortash had a pact with Ketheric and Orin OR that you wanted to see where it takes Karlach disapproves -5 (either option)
  • If you declined Gortash 's offer:
  • When Karlach asks what you'd make of him, say you're impressed how he wormed his way up Karlach disapproves -5

Lower City

Devil's Fee

  • Upon returning from House of Hope, intimidate Helsik saying that you've just killed a devil in his own home. Karlach disapproves -1

House of Hope

Note: It is possible to detach one of your party companions and foist them on Haarlep to play his 'game'. In that case, 'Clothes removal' point is lost always, while 'Vowing body' point distracts only sometimes, if Karlach stands too close to the scene.
