Mask of Terror is a Human member of Auntie Ethel's flock. He is encountered in the The Blushing Mermaid - Basement alongside Mask of Vengeance (The Blushing Mermaid) Mask of Vengeance, Mask of Servitude (The Blushing Mermaid) Mask of Servitude, and the real Grisly Captain Grisly.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act Three[edit | edit source]

Like the other Masks, the Mask of Terror wanders around the basement area. If the party either did not discover that Ethel was impersonating Grisly, or antagonized Ethel upstairs, then they will all be hostile. However, if the party agreed to Ethel's deal as part of Gather Your Allies then they will not be hostile and can even be spoken to. Mask of Terror recounts making a deal with Auntie to get back at people who laughed at him.

If the party confront Auntie Ethel in the basement's next-door room, then he and other the other members of the flock will be teleported into the battle as long as they weren't previously killed or knocked out. They will be hostile by virtue of the Whispering Mask, placing them under the charming effect of Part of the Flock Part of the Flock.

If the party encounter Mask of Terror after Ethel is killed, he is no longer hostile but his sanity is no longer intact.
