Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act Three[edit | edit source]

Luan sells copies of the Baldur's Mouth Gazette near the Lower City gallows at X: 122 Y: -69. Although seemingly shy, his sales strategy is to guilt customers into buying his papers. If a party member buys a copy from him, he responds, "DEAL! HA! Tricked you. Enjoy the read, sucker."

Companion approval[edit | edit source]

When the party first approach Luan, he attempts to sell them a copy of the gazette. The following responses affect party approval:

  • That's terrible salesmanship. Get your act together.
  • I don't care, stand up straight! Project your voice!

Any of the above: Halsin disapproves -1 Jaheira disapproves -1 Karlach disapproves -1 Minsc disapproves -1 Shadowheart disapproves -1 Wyll disapproves -1 Lae'zel approves +1 Minthara approves +1

Idle banter[edit | edit source]

News Hawker Luan: Below the fold again Estra, I told you you should've added pictures!

  • Estra Stir: Go on then, if you think you can do better - pitch me your story.
    • News Hawker Luan: All right here's one for you - did you hear about the rabbit that became a frog?
      • Estra Stir: Mmmhmm. Perhaps you just focus on the paper selling and leave the writing to me.

If Enver Gortash is killed:

  • Estra Stir: Go on then. Tell me a story that'd beat Gortash's death for the headline.
    • News Hawker Luan: All right here's one for you - did you hear about the rabbit that became a frog?
      • Estra Stir: Mmmhmm. Perhaps you just focus on the paper selling and leave the writing to me.
