Overview[edit | edit source]
Access[edit | edit source]
Philgrave's Mansion can be entered in multiple ways:
- Via a locked door in a stone wall X: -8 Y: -158, which can be opened with a password after reading either Letter to Oskar Fervas or the Parchment in the alley next to Bruc and Pishe's Emporium X: 73 Y: -107. Otherwise, the door can be lockpicked or destroyed like any other door.
- Sneaking in via a hole in the wall X: 29 Y: -166
- Reaching the upper balcony and lockpicking the balcony entrance by passing a DC 25 Sleight of Hand check.
Top Floor[edit | edit source]
The upstairs area is littered with Bedrolls and puddles of blood. Four Ghouls (Carpal, Ligus, Hamate, and Rectus) and a Ghast (Thenar) can be found here. Their names, along with Ulnar) are references to bones in the body. If entrance is gained from this floor, Thenar will ask the party to leave. A Gold Pendant can be found on the table upstairs next to the staircase. A Red Carmine Mask can be found on the other table. A Beggar's Portrait X: 8 Y: -155 can be found in the room above the stairs by passing a DC 10 Perception Check. The portrait is trapped (warded with necrotic magic). Passing a DC 15 Arcana check will reward a quest-related letter called Thrumbo's Note. There is also a Wooden Chest tucked in the corner. It contains Gold, a random scroll (such as Scroll of Circle of Death), and a book titled Writin Exorcises penned by Thrumbo for his 'brothers' to practice the alphabet.
Middle Floor[edit | edit source]
The central area is a defunct, dusty sitting room with a staircase leading up to the top floor and a hall with a locked door (DC 15 Sleight of Hand Check). A macabre room filled with body parts, piles of bodies, and blood can be found behind the door. A lever can be found which opens a door to the basement at X: 2 Y: -166. A secret stone door can be found and reveals a ladder to a secret room on the bottom floor at X: 18 Y: -157.
Bottom Floor[edit | edit source]
The bottom floor is separated into the living area and a secret room. The secret room is accessed through a secret door on the middle floor. A trapdoor leading to the basement can be found in the secret room. The living area is accessed either from the stairs to the middle floor or through a secret door in the outer wall. Mystic Carrion resides in the living area alongside a Ghast named Ulnar. There are a number of Wooden Caskets strewn along the edges of the living area and right outside the doors, under the stairs to the Middle Floor. If one is interacted with, the casket will break open and an Ancient Servant will break free. If attacked, all other caskets will break open and combat will begin with all characters on this floor, including Mystic Carrion and Ulnar.
Basement[edit | edit source]
This is a separate location named 'Philgrave's Mansion - Basement'. This is a laboratory that has seen use. Multiple Potions and Alchemical Ingredients can be found in the basement. An Elixir of Necrotic Resistance can be found on the table. If the Dark Amethyst was not previously acquired in the Blighted Village, then it can be obtained here.
