Dez Kanshaw: What say you, should I have another? Ilmater preserve me, I need the courage.
- Player: Will another drink solve your problems?
- Dez Kanshaw: No, saer. We abandoned our farm when the Absolute army marched in.
- Dez Kanshaw: We used to sell our barley to the brewer who makes this very beer. That's all over now.
- Player: You must be furious at the Absolute cult and their army.
- Dez Kanshaw: Why? No more point to that than getting mad at a plague of locusts, or the weather.
- Player: Did you try to fight back?
- Dez Kanshaw: We're farmers, not fighters. That's not the answer for us.
- Dez Kanshaw: Oldest boy, Korson, he means well but he eats as much as the rest of us put together. I have to find him a place here.

- Dez Kanshaw: That's what I was thinking too. Was drinking to get up the courage to do it.
