Dwarves are a playable race in Baldur's Gate 3.

About Dwarves

Racial Features

(Note: these are the racial and subrace features of Dwarves as of Patch 9 of Early Access; they will be different in the full release of the game.)

Gold Dwarves

Default Gold Dwarf appearance

Gold Dwarves are known for their confidence and keen intuition. The culture of their Deep Kingdom values family, ritual, and fine craftsmanship.

Subrace Traits

Shield Dwarves

Default Shield Dwarf appearance

Shield Dwarves survived a long fall from grace, surrendering many of their ancient kingdoms in wars with Goblins and Orcs. These losses have lead to a cynical mindset, yet Shield Dwarves will endure anything to restore their ancestral homelands.

Subrace Traits

Duergar

A duergar in game

Once enslaved by the eldritch Mind Flayers, Duergar adapted to freedom with harsh practicality. Their cold demeanours and gift of stealth are well-known through the Underdark.

Note: Duergar are not yet a playable race in Early Access, but will be in the full release of the game.

Subrace Traits

(Note: these are the racial features that are assumed for the full release based on previews)

NPC Features

While player characters do not, NPC Duergar characters will have the following passive feature in addition to the above:
