Jaheira seems sure of you. I hope she's right. This barricade might keep the shadows out, but it won't help against what's already inside.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act Two[edit | edit source]

Last Light Inn[edit | edit source]

Donner can be first encountered at the Last Light Inn, reinforcing the barricade with planks, which Antony Antony and Chenti Chenti bring to him. He can be observed in the background as Elifer Elifer and Jaheira Jaheira interact with the party, stepping aside to make way for Mol Mol, if she is alive and comes to the party's rescue. Alternatively, he can be lightly pushed aside by Marcus Falgor Marcus, if the tiefling refugees do not make it to Last Light. If Marcus is exposed as a True Soul, Donner gets Stunned Stunned and joins the fight against the summoned Crawling Claw Crawling Claws.

Talking with Donner after exposing Marcus' true identity reveals he is the only Harper around who is still unwilling to trust the party, berating them that Marcus got away without being injured and that the party is only doing this to gain their trust.[1]

Donner can then be observed reinforcing and sharpening the barricades with a dagger until later events, occasionally chatting with Antony Antony who is bringing him wood.[2][3]

Resolve the Abduction[edit | edit source]

When Flaming Fist Marcus attacks the inn and attempts to kidnap Isobel Isobel during Resolve the Abduction Resolve the Abduction, Donner usually fails his saving throw and is Impaled Impaled for the remainder of battle. If Isobel is not saved, Donner and everyone in Last Light Inn, save for Jaheira, turn into Shadow-Cursed Undead Shadow-Cursed Undead.

Assault Moonrise Towers[edit | edit source]

If Isobel is saved and the Aylin Nightsong is freed from her cage and heads for Moonrise Towers, Donner follows Jaheira to the assault on Moonrise. However, Donner is killed during the fight against Absolute forces before the party members arrive. His corpse is on the bridge leading to Moonrise Towers, implying he was amongst the first to fall in battle.
