Involvement

Act One

Cerys does not typically appear until Act Two. However she serves as a failsafe in Act One in the event both Zevlor Zevlor and Asharak Asharak have died, with the game requiring a tiefling leader to trigger certain events such as Raid the Grove Raid the Grove, or the camp party after once Defeat the Goblins Defeat the Goblins has been completed.

Successfully defending the Emerald Grove from Minthara Minthara's[1] raid has Cerys run in from outside, calling for either Zevlor or Asharak, before forcing dialogue with the party. The party can tell Cerys of the previous leaders' fates, to which she reacts with dismay. If the goblins' leaders have been killed, Cerys instead is waiting with the rest of the tieflings at the grove's entrance, telling the party that she noticed them clearing the Goblin Camp, but found Zevlor dead back in the grove as well. In both cases, she immediately takes charge of the remaining tiefling survivors, and rewards the party for their deeds.

Act Two

If the tiefling refugees have been rescued and are on the road to Baldur's Gate, Cerys can be found at Last Light Inn with the remaining tiefling survivors. Talking with her reveals that Zevlor had betrayed them[2] by surrendering the refugees to the Absolute, and that she and a few others managed to flee to Last Light while the rest were either killed or captured. She asks the party to help the tieflings who were captured and taken to Moonrise Towers.

It is also revealed there that Cerys was the scout responsible for finding their road to Baldur's Gate, although the road had turned out to be one that led directly into the Shadow-Cursed Lands, and by extension, the Cult of the Absolute's main base of power in Moonrise Towers.

Upon rescuing the tieflings from Moonrise, Cerys thanks the party. After Moonrise Towers is cleared and Ketheric Thorm Ketheric Thorm is defeated, Cerys can be found behind Moonrise Towers' throne room, scavenging supplies and preparing for the remainder of the road ahead. She can be told about Zevlor's fate if he was encountered and saved from the Mind Flayer Colony, to which she reacts with anger; she can also be told he died (even if rescued), to which she reacts with remorseful upset.

Act Three

Cerys can be encountered at the refugee camp in Rivington with the remaining tiefling refugees. She can be told about Zevlor's fate if he was encountered in the Mind Flayer Colony if it was not already done so in Act Two.

Notes

  1. Should the party trigger the Grove Defense and knock Minthara Minthara out, upon recruiting her later in Act Two a bug occurs where Cerys is pulled into every combat encounter Minthara is present regardless of where the party is on the map. This persists into Act Three with the only fix as of Patch 7 being to either kill her or never take Minthara in your party. This bug does not occur if Minthara is knocked out at the Goblin Camp instead.
  2. This is the case even if Zevlor Zevlor perished in Act One.
