Creature Size is an attribute of all creatures that influences various gameplay mechanics and actions.
A creature's size can be determined by right-clicking it and selecting Examine.
Size Categories
Creatures can be Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Huge, or Gargantuan.
Size | Maximum Weight | Example Creatures |
---|---|---|
Tiny | 6 kg / 13 lb | Cat |
Small | 40 kg / 88 lb | Goblin, Halfling, Gnome |
Medium | 200 kg / 441 lb | Human, Elf, Dwarf, and many other Playable Races |
Large | 5,000 kg / 11,023 lb | Ogre |
Huge | 50,000 kg / 110,231 lb | (None yet in Early Access) |
Gargantuan | 500,000 kg / 1,102,311 lb | (None yet in Early Access) |
Notes:
- 'Maximum Weight' in this table refers to the weight of the creature, rather than the creature's carrying capacity, which is determined by its Strength.
- When the Enlarge/Reduce spell increases or decreases a creature's Size and weight, additional weight is added or subtracted if necessary to place the creature in the correct Size category.
Effects of Creature Size
- The maximum Hit Points of many enemy creatures are partially determined by their Size.
- Smaller creatures tend to have slower Movement Speed.
- Creatures in the Small and Tiny size categories have Disadvantage on Attack Rolls with Heavy weapons, due to the size and bulk of Heavy weapons. (Note: This penalty is not yet implemented as of EA Patch 9.)
- Throw and File:Action Improvised Weapon Icon.png Improvised Melee Weapon may only be used on creatures at least one size category smaller than the user.
