Template:Up to date Point Buy is the method used by Baldur's Gate 3 to determine a character's Ability Scores during Character Creation.
The rules of Point Buy when assigning Ability Scores are:
- There are 27 total points to spend.
- Ability Scores can not be lower than 8.
- Ability Scores can not be higher than 15.
- Point cost increases when you reach a certain Ability Score. Namely from 13 to 14 and 14 to 15 you have to pay two points.
- You must spend all of your points.
Besides the general points, there is also a +2 and +1 bonus. Thus you could have one starting Ability Score at 17.
