Hostile is the state of a creature which causes them to automatically attack the party members when inside their line of sight. A creature can be neutral or ally at first, then turn hostile in reaction of a party member's actions (dialogue, attacking, picking/looting/lockpicking red objects, stealing, etc).

When hostile, a creature is highlighted in red (neutral is highlighted in yellow, ally in green, main character in blue and other party members in white) and during combat, their portrait has a red border. Holding Left Shift or entering in Hide Hide mode allows to see the hostile creatures' line of sight (red vision cones, or "Sneak Cones").
