Character information
Location The Festering Cove

BOOOAL is a Redcap being worshiped by the Kuo-toa of The Festering Cove as their God of Murder. The Kuo-toa worship has enhanced his strength and made BOOOAL much stronger than is normal for a Redcap.

Conditions

Notable Loot

  • Sickle of BOOOAL - If the player can cause BOOOAL's power to falter by shaking his Kuo-toa's belief in him, and then agree to be his chosen, BOOOAL will give the player his sickle. Alternatively, loot from Pooldripp the Zealous (does not drop from BOOOAL).

Notes

  • BOOOAL can do a devastating amount of damage in one turn due to the 3 attacks from his Avatar of BOOOAL.
  • Initial dialogue offers a DC10 Investigation check, or a DC (TBC) Persuasion check.
    • "Wait! If it's blood you want, I can make another offer"
      • Leads to a DC 20 Persuasion check, rewarding outcome #3 below; or
      • an option to sacrifice a companion
    • "Redcaps love violence - bait him with an exaggerated tale of battle and bloodshed" (DC 10 Performance)
    • "Are your followers aware you're just a rabid little fey creature? (DC 15 Persuasion)
    • #1 is exposition
    • #2 causes a 1-on-1 fight with the redcap only
    • #3 ends the encounter diplomatically with 750 XP and the sickle of BOOOAL
    • #4 and #5 starts a fight with the redcap and all nine Kuo-toa
  • Other options exist, including that of sacrificing a companion for a permanent buff. Details to be confirmed.
