Slayer is unique form that especially dedicated Bhaalspawn may assume in Baldur's Gate 3
My Chosen. My Slayer. Violence incarnate. You will become a testament in blood.
Bhaal awarding a dedicated Bhaalspawn for their unwavering favor.

Violence Incarnate

The Slayer form is a powerful ability granted to the most dedicated follower of Bhaal. It usually appears as a form Orin the Red takes during her boss battle, and functions very similarly to Wild Shape or being Polymorphed. The user of the form takes on all the statistics of the Slayer, and all of their actions are replaced by the Slayer's own. With a powerful multiattack, a distance-closing leap, a devastating single attack, as well as an action that can inflict bleeding, the Slayer is an especially powerful form allowing the user to tear through their enemies with ease.

While usually given to Orin the Red, it is possible for The Dark Urge to obtain this ability, for a price. During Act 2 they can choose to kill Isobel, their lover, or their closest companion to obtain this powerful ability for themselves.

Should The Dark Urge refuse any of these actions, they will receive another chance to obtain this form should they defeat Orin the Red in a duel. The avatar of Bhaal, speaking through Sceleritas Fel will grant this form should it be accepted.

It is worth noting that should The Dark Urge acquire the Slayer form before Act 3, Orin the Red will lose access to the Slayer, and will fight in her standard humanoid form.

Notes

  • The Slayer Form is a returning ability present in Baldur's Gate 2. It first appeared in Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn as an ability granted midway through the game.
  • The Slayer is only one of three avatars of Bhaal; A shapeshifting one called Kazgoroth, a human-sized one named the Slayer, and a giant named the Ravager. While only the Slayer appears within Baldur's Gate 3, the Ravager appears in Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal as the protagonist's "taint" due to being a Bhaalspawn, while Kazgoroth is a seperate creature, described as either a minion or Avatar of Bhaal in some circumstances.
  • Despite functioning like Wild Shape, Slayer form does not inherit the extra attacks from the Druid class's Wild Strike or Improved Wild Strike. Instead, Slayer form will inherit the character's Extra Attack or Improved Extra Attack (as available).
