Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act One[edit | edit source]
Arabella is held prisoner by Kagha for attempting to steal the Idol of Silvanus. She is the objective of the quest.
At the entrance to the Sacred Pool, Arabella's parents ask the party to rescue her. She can be found inside the Druids' Chambers, being threatened by Kagha and her snake, Teela, while Rath tries to dissuade Kagha from hurting her.
The party can intervene to save Arabella. If she is saved, she returns to her parents, who scold her for her actions. Komira gives the party Komira's Locket as a reward and Arabella explains that she thought the druids would listen to the refugees if she stole their idol. She expresses disappointment on her failed quest and worries Mol might be angry with her.
If Kagha is not convinced, or a Dark Urge player character encourages her to run [1], Arabella is killed by Teela. She can later be avenged either during the quest or, if her parents and Kagha are still alive, during the tiefling party at the campsite, where Kagha is poisoned by Komira and Locke.
Act Two[edit | edit source]
If Arabella survives to Act Two, she is found at the entrance to the Reithwin Graveyard between The House of Healing and the Mason's Guild in the Shadow-Cursed Lands, searching for her parents. Offering to help initiates the quest and Arabella can be invited to Camp. The party can also attempt to send her to the Last Light Inn, but Arabella refuses to stay anywhere but the party's camp. If refusing to assist or shelter her, she runs away; her corpse can be found and spoken to next to an entangled shadow at X: -176 Y: -67.
Sadly, Arabella's parents do not survive and their corpses can be found under the care of Sister Lidwin in the House of Healing.
How Arabella takes this news depends on when she is told. If the party find her parents' corpses before finding Arabella, there is an option to tell her immediately. In this case, Arabella is shocked and upset, and runs into the shadows. If, instead, Arabella goes to camp and forms a bond with Withers, she takes the news much better. She is still distraught and refuses to speak to the party after they tell her, but calms down after a Long Rest and can accept her parents' deaths. With a surge of magic, she gives the party member who is speaking to her the ability to cast . In the end, Withers encourages her to go her own way and follow the Weave, stating that she has her own destiny to follow. Arabella remains in camp until the end of Act Two.
Act Three[edit | edit source]
If Araballe survives into Act Three, she can be found in the Lower City Sewers, across from the City Sewers waypoint at X: -133 Y: 773; she is surrounded by the bodies of four thugs, and is staring intently at a stone.
If the party member speaking with her passes an Arcana check, they learn that the stone is magical, and has absorbed lifetimes upon lifetimes of stories from the city above. Arabella is absorbing them too. She tells the party that "Bone Man" (her name for Withers) was right: the Weave guides her. She hints that the party might see her again.
Arabella can be recruited as part of the condition to members of your party.
quest (see quest page for more details about recruitment). She gives theEpilogue[edit | edit source]
During the Epilogue, a Letter from Arabella (Epilogue) can be found in the Chest of Grateful Words. She informs the player character that she "followed the Weave" like Withers told her to, and she is now under the tutelage of someone she calls "Beard Man" (perhaps Elminster), who is teaching her how to use the Weave responsibly.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ The Dark Urge is given numerous opportunities throughout the game to make choices which follow decidedly darker, more violent and villainous paths. Encouraging Arabella to run, while knowing her doing so will cause her death, is but one example of this.
