Sarin is a dead, ghostly NPC located in the Lower City Sewers.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Sarin was once part of a group of thieves, alongside Aelis Siryasius Aelis Siryasius and Bareki Bareki, who broke into Gortash's office. In doing so, they discovered the secret plot of The Absolute and were hunted down by Absolute Cultists until they fled into the sewers. Sarin believed that Aelis and Bareki would get them all caught by recklessly spending the treasure they stole from Gortash, so she decided to hide it- inadvertently fueling their paranoia and causing them to fear that she'd been taken over by the Absolute. As a result, Bareki decapitated her and Aelis burned her until only her skeleton remained.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Aelis Siryasius can be found protecting a coffin containing Sarin's Skeleton in the Lower City Sewers X: -125 Y: 829. Aelis will explain the story of this ill-fated trio and threaten to attack the party unless they pass a DC 18 Intimidation check, DC 18 Persuasion check, or DC 18 Deception check to convince him to stand down.

Sarin's Skeleton can be found in the coffin behind, where it is glowing with Light Light and missing its head. The skeleton's body has an interactable slot to reattach Sarin's Skull.

Finding Sarin's Skull[edit | edit source]

The key to repairing Sarin's skeleton is to seek out Bareki - the man who decapitated her during their group's falling out. Sarin's Skull can be found in a pouch in the Undercity Ruins X: -156 Y: 946 behind Bareki, who acts as a trader. Taking the skull counts as stealing but Bareki never turns around so it can be safely pilfered after hiding hiding.

Once the skull is picked up, a Headless Ghost will begin to follow the party while they remain in the sewers, and will disappear when the party leaves the area or the skull is sent to camp. The Headless Ghost cannot be interacted with and has nothing to pickpocket.

If the party returns to Sarin's skeleton, they can reattach her head. Sarin's ghost will regain its head and bow to the party, rewarding them with Chancer's Carcanet. If this is done in turn based mode, you can kill Sarin's ghost and obtain 320 xp, but you will not receive the amulet and there is no available loot on the body.

Once the skull is returned to the skeleton, it stops glowing and is renamed Sarin at Peace.
