Yonas can only be encountered in the Shadow-Cursed Lands if the party enters the area through the Grymforge elevator. He is part of an expedition of Harpers led by Lassandra and consisting of Karrow, Meygan, and himself. After meeting the party and being ordered to move in, he is struck down and snatched into the surrounding darkness by a Shadow, where he called for help. He is then killed by the Shadow Curse, and wanders back into line of sight as a . The blighted Harper sides with the shadows against the party.

- As of Patch 7, despite having Extra Attack, Yonas is not able to attack twice during his turns.
- As of Patch 6, there is an exploit which allows the party to save him. It involves the use of
on Yonas during the encounter, which removes the condition from him. After that, toggle Non-Lethal Attacks must be used to hit the polymorphed Yonas, which may result in him reverting back to his human form and free from the curse; there is also a chance that he dies instead from the hit.
