Brilgor
History[edit | edit source]
Brilgor was one of many refugees fleeing to Baldur's Gate from the war of the Absolute. While in the city, Brilgor often visited the Open Hand Temple for meals,[1] and spoke with the Reverend, Father Lorgan.
At some point, Brilgor was being pursued by the Flaming Fists, and turned to Father Lorgan to help him hide. Lorgan took Brilgor to a large underground cavern beneath the temple, where he sheltered several other refugees.
Unbeknownst to them, a group of Bhaalist doppelgangers led by Dolor were collecting kills in the cavern. Upon entering the cavern, Dolor killed Lorgan and Brilgor by piercing them with his blade and paralysing them.[2]
After discovering their bodies, Lorgan and Brilgor's murders were investigated by Investigator Valeria, who deemed Brilgor guilty of killing Lorgan, though the rest of the temple were sceptical.
Brilgor was buried in the graveyard behind the temple, his headstone reading: "Brilgor. Fell to anger and rage - taking Father Lorgan with him. May Ilmater forgive him."
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act Three[edit | edit source]
When the party reach the Open Hand Temple in Rivington, they discover that the Reverend of the temple, Father Lorgan, was killed, with Brelgor as the prime suspect.
Inside the temple, Sister Yannis is arguing with the investigator, Valeria, over the veracity of her claims. Yannis and Brother Donnick tell the party that they believe Brilgor is innocent.
Brilgor's body is buried behind the temple. Opening his casket and removing his body allows the party to speak to him via
. He can reveal that he and Lorgan were murdered in the tunnels beneath the temple by a dwarf in "red clothes".The circumstances and description of the murderer can be corroborated by talking to Father Lorgan's corpse. However, Valeria needs stronger evidence to clear Brilgor. In order to do this, Valeria must be given a bloodstained note found in a secret room on the top floor of Fraygo's Flophouse X: -21 Y: 79, which contains a list of the murderer's victims.
If Brilgor is exonerated, his headstone reads: "Brilgor. Fell to a plot of the Absolute - dying without cause. May he find peace with Ilmater."
