Objectives
Kill the rats.
- Chef Roveer wants us to kill the rats in his cellar. It's not clear why he can't just do this himself...
Speak to Chef Roveer.
- The rats are dead. We should speak to Chef Roveer.
Quest Complete
- Chef Roveer was pleased and rewarded us.
- Roveer is gone - as is our chance of a reward.
- We left without killing all the rats.
Walkthrough
Chef Roveer can be located on the ground floor of Elfsong Tavern, in the kitchen (X:64, Y:8). Speaking to Roveer, he assumes the party is here to take care of the rat problem in the cellars, which his two cats are seemingly uninterested in helping with. Going down the wooden stairs (X:52, Y:8) leads to the storehouse and a battle instantly starts.
A whopping 36 rats are in Roveer's storehouse, each with 1 hp. Defeat them all and return to Roveer where he gratefully rewards the party with gold.
Quest Rewards
- 347 Gold
Notes
- Chef Roveer can be warned as part of Investigate the Murders, but he will not take the party seriously until after they've dealt with the rats.
- This quest is a callback to the original Baldur's Gate prologue quest Reevor's Storehouse, which also had the players defeating rats for a stout dwarf.
