Eldritch Knights study magic to supplement their weaponry, allowing them to overcome resistance from the toughest foes.
Eldritch Knights study magic to supplement their weaponry, allowing them to overcome resistance from the toughest foes.
Eldritch Knight is one of the Subclasses of Fighter. These Fighters specialize in spellcasting, using their martial prowess and magic to attack enemies or support allies in combat. Eldritch Knights use Intelligence as their Spellcasting Ability, and learn spells from the Wizard spell list, favouring the schools of Evocation and Abjuration.
Subclass features
This subclass obtains all the features from its base class, Fighter, in addition to its unique features outlined below.Level 3
- Ritually bind the weapon in your main hand. The weapon can't be knocked out of your hand, and it automatically returns to you when Thrown.
- Spellcasting Ability
- Known spells
- Eldritch Knight Spells are Always Prepared.
- Level 1 Spell Slots Unlocked: 2
- You gain two Level 1 Spell Slots.
- Cantrips Known: 2
- Choose 2 Cantrips from the Wizard spell list.
- Known Spells
- Choose 2 Spells from the Wizard spell list (schools of Abjuration or Evocation only), up to Level 1. These spells are Always Prepared.
- Choose 1 Spell from the Wizard spell list (any spell school) up to Level 1. This spell is Always Prepared.
- New Cantrips available
- New Level 1 Abjuration and Evocation spells available
Level 4
- Level 1 Spell Slots Unlocked: 3
- You gain an additional Level 1 Spell Slot.
- Known Spells
- Choose 1 Spell from the Wizard spell list (schools of Abjuration or Evocation only). This spell is Always Prepared.
- Replacement Spell (Optional)
- Choose 1 known spell and replace it with another Spell from the full Wizard spell list. The replacement spell must be Level 1.

- Replacement Spell (Optional)
- Choose 1 known spell and replace it with another Spell from the full Wizard spell list. The replacement spell must be Level 1.
Level 6
- Replacement Spell (Optional)
- Choose 1 known spell and replace it with another Spell from the full Wizard spell list. The replacement spell must be Level 1.
Level 7
- Level 1 Spell Slots Unlocked: 4
- You gain an additional Level 1 Spell Slot.
- Level 2 Spell Slots Unlocked: 2
- You gain two Level 2 Spell Slots.
- You have honed your body and magic for war. After you cast a cantrip, you can make a weapon attack using a Bonus action.

- Choose 2 Spells from the Wizard spell list (schools of Abjuration or Evocation only). These spells are Always Prepared.
- New Level 2 Abjuration and Evocation spells available
- Replacement Spell (Optional)

- When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, it has Disadvantage on its next Saving throw against a spell you cast before the end of your next turn.

- You gain an additional Level 2 Spell Slot.
