History

Hailing from the Underdark, Sorn was originally employed as a courtesan, and Nym as an artisanal masseuse. The pair fled the Underdark due to the matriarchy's mistreatment of men, ultimately coming to work in Baldur's Gate. Nym says that life is easy in her line of work, and refers to Sharess' Caress as an "oasis of calm" within the "chaos" of Baldur's Gate.

Involvement

Act Three

Services from Sorn or Nym individually cost 500 Gold, and from both together cost 1000. Completing Find the 'Stern Librarian' Ffion Find the 'Stern Librarian' Ffion, then reporting back to Amira Mamzell Amira and requesting a reward, will result in Mamzell Amira offering the party the drows' services; the player character can then hire one of the twins for free, or both for 500 Gold.

All of Sorn and Nym's sex scenes are voice-only over a black screen, without any visuals; the lights in the room are turned off as "part of the experience."

Sorn and Nym Orlith can be hired by the player character individually, or as a pair together with additional (romanced) companions.

  • If the player character is in a romance with Shadowheart Shadowheart, she will reject the invitation if her final romance scene hasn't been triggered yet, as she wants the first time to be just her and the player character. After that scene, she will always enthusiastically agree to have sex with Sorn, Nym, and the player character.
  • Astarion Astarion, when romanced, will only agree after The Pale Elf The Pale Elf is completed - however, the narration notes that Astarion seems to be spaced out, not enjoying the act. Astarion will also offer to participate if the player character is not partnered.
  • A romanced Gale Gale can be convinced to participate with a DC 25 Persuasion check, but once the scene begins, he'll duck out and leave behind an Astral Projection to participate in his stead.
  • Halsin Halsin, when romanced, will also always agree, and if romanced at the same time as Shadowheart or Astarion, can join in alongside them. Gale can also be convinced to join with Halsin and the player character (though he will still use an astral projection). If Halsin joins alongside another romanced companion and increases the number of participants to five, Sorn will comment that in Qu'ellarz'orrl custom, a group of five or more is "legally" an orgy, while four or fewer is simply a gathering.
  • Any other companions will reject Sorn and Nym's invitation.
    • However, Karlach Karlach admits that while having a foursome sounds appealing in theory, the reality of doing so with twins is not. If the player character backs out as well and instead hires only one twin, she happily encourages them to have fun and save some for her later.

While Sorn has a variety of comical and strange scenes available, Nym, as the less "extreme" option, has a single, fairly simple scene available.

Once either or both of the twins are met in their room, the player character can also change their mind and decide not to go through with the act, which results in either sibling simply returning the fee paid.

Notes

  • In traditional Drow names, "Nym" means "lost", "skeleton", or "skull".[1]
  • A glitch sometimes occurs if Scratch Scratch is summoned when your character and Shadowheart approach Nym and Sorn in the Drow Private Room to initiate the sex scene, in which Nym and Sorn roll for initiative and combat begins. Dismissing Scratch solves this problem. A summoned Planar Ally: Djinni or Conjured Elemental will also start combat upon initiating dialogue.
