Ebonlake Grotto (also known as the Myconid Colony) is a location within the Underdark in Act One. It is the home of the Myconid Circle, a group of mushroom-like telepaths led by Sovereign Spaw, which serves as a :

Myconid Minefield
In the south-east area of the grotto, this area contains many dangerous mushrooms such as Timmask, Bibberbang and Torchstalk. Setting off fire spells or torchstalks in this area can cause a chain reaction of explosions.
Giant Bird Nest
South-west of the grotto, this unnamed area is unremarkable save for the empty giant bird nest.
Guardian Gate
As reward for the quest Defeat the Duergar Intruders, Sovereign Spaw will unlock the gate. It can otherwise be destroyed to enter the room beyond, but not lock-picked. Inside is some loot and a Pale Corpse which can be spoken to with .

- Spaw will contact the party telepathically when they enter the area. They can later be spoken to for help with a rot issue.
- Glut will request help avenging his circle.
- Thulla has been poisoned by a Duergar and needs the antidote. Once she is spoken to, she will die within three long rests.
- Blurg and Omellum can be asked for help regarding the player's tadpole infection.
- Derryth Bonecloak's husband has gone missing.
