You specialise in unarmed combat, using your hands and control of ki to heal or inflict grievous hurt.

Way of Shadow is one of the subclasses of Monk Monk. It can be chosen at level 3. These monks are more specialized in using the shadows to quietly strike their foes.


Subclass Features

Level 3

  • Shadow Arts: Hide
  • Shadow Arts: Pass Without Trace
  • Shadow Arts: Darkness
  • Shadow Arts: Darkvision
  • Shadow Arts: Silence
  • Cantrip: Minor Illusion

Level 5

  • Cloak of Shadows: Wrap yourself in shadows to become Invisible for 10 turns. Requires you to be Obscured and you will lose invisibility if you move into an area that is not Lightly or Heavily obscured. Restores on Long Rest.

Level 6

  • Shadow Step: Teleport from shadow to shadow. Gain Advantage on your next melee Attack Roll. 18m range.

Level 11

  • Shadow Strike: Weapon Action. While Obscured, teleport to an enemy and deal +3d8 Psychic damage. 9m range. Requires 3 Ki points.
  • Shadow Strike: Unarmed: While Obscured, teleport to an enemy and perform an Unarmed Attack with an additional 3d8 Psychic damage. 9m range. Requires 3 Ki points.
