Act One[edit | edit source]

Zel'i and Ra'jak Ra'jak are playing in the Crèche Infirmary. They are honing their Mage Hand Mage Hand skill, shoving a locked Traveller’s Chest back and forth. When being hit, wailing sounds emerge from the chest, which can be heard far beyond the Infirmary.

The player character may speak to Zel'i and choose one of three major options:

  • Ask the kids what is inside the chest
  • Bid them to stop shoving the chest (might require DC 10 Intimidation check)
  • Express a wish to take part in their game

Eventually, all dialogue lines (except those letting kids continue their game) lead to one of two outcomes: either Zel'i hits the player character with the Mage Hand, or both children run away to the right-central alcove of the Infirmary and chuckle, allowing the party to lockpick the chest ( DC 18 Sleight of Hand check) and face the consequences.

In the latter case, the party learns the source of the wailing: there is a Gremishka Gremishka locked inside. Once set loose, it becomes hostile to everyone in the room and must be killed.

Also, the player might lockpick the chest without talking to the kids first, which leads immediately to combat with the Gremishka. If itneracting afterwards, Zel'i mocks them, pleased with the Gremishka 'joke'.

If the player starts a fight with the characters in the Infirmary (for example, after letting Stornugoss Ghustil Stornugoss run for help out of Doctor’s office), Zel'i and Ra'jak disappear from the Infirmary and cannot be found anywhere.

One option is to pick the chest up and send it to camp. Zel'i berates the player for "stealing toys from children".
