Phalar Aluve is a rare, lightly enchanted (+1) special variant of the Longswords family of weapons. It is a martial melee weapon that can be wielded in one hand, or with both hands for extra damage. As a finesse weapon, it can benefit from the wielder's Dexterity and not just their Strength.
The drow inscription on this blade appears to have been recently carved. It translates to: 'Though I have to leave you, I will dance forever in Eilistraee's Light.'

- DC 15 Religion check to learn how to release the magic holding it in place.
- Paladin: DC 10 Religion check (with advantage) to consider what the appropriate ritual for releasing the sword. If successful, a Paladin can perform the ritual or use your oath to prove your work (DC 10 Charisma check).
Alternately, a Cleric of Eilistraee can release the sword without needing an ability check.
Notes
- The 1d4 Thunder damage doesn't seem to trigger effects requiring Thunder damage on items like Hat of Storm Scion's Power or Gloves of Belligerent Skies - regardless of whether the character triggering the damage has the items or the character activating Phalar Aluve - the Reverberation stacks don't apply. The Ring of Spiteful Thunder, however, is triggered if the target had stacks of Reverberation applied - at least when worn by the character triggering the damage. (as of 4.1.1.3648072)
- The Sing effect stacks with Bless. Both effects keep going after unequipping the sword. Tested on Patch 2.
