Being a Drow and follower of the Absolute, Minthara has a highly hostile and cruel attitude towards other beings, considering pretty much everyone as inferior. She has a special disdain for those who do not share her beliefs, and as a drow noble, she holds drow characters in high regard.
The actions and choices listed on this page will raise or lower Minthara's Approval.

Greetings
Currently, regardless of their approval rating or relationship status, Minthara greets the player with: [Needs Verification]
- "You wish to consult me?"
If spoken to by someone other than the player character:
- "I do not have time for idle chatter."
Approval
The following story and dialogue choices will cause Minthara to gain approval.
Act Two
Act 2 Spoilers! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.
Last Light Inn
- After seeing the Strange Ox memories, tell him his secret is safe
- Refuse to drink Jaheira's truth-serum dosed wine.
- When speaking with Marcus, claim you can kidnap Isobel by your self.
- Inform Isobel that Marcus is a true soul.
- Ask Marcus for more information, and then tell Isobel that he's trying to kidnap her.
Shadowed Battlefield
- Convince Gronag the warrior to look for the bone in the shadows
- Convince the drider to give up the moon lantern. +1
- After being persuaded to give you the moon lantern, Convince a drider patrol to leave without protection from the curse. +1
House of Healing
- Convince Malus Thorm to order his sisters to hone their blades on each other. +1
- Persuade Malus Thorm to operate on himself. +1
- Convince Malus Thorm to take the place of his patient and submit to sisters' curing. +1
- As a Paladin, tell Malus Thorm that you are duty bound to end him.
- If Arabella and the Tieflings were saved in Act 1 you have to avoid meeting her in Act 2 and first find her parents. Meeting her afterwards you can tell her that they are dead and will never return and she will be mad at you and run away. +1
The Waning Moon
- Refuse to drink with Thisobald Thorm.
- Successfully drink with Thisobald Thorm (rather than choosing the Slight of Hand check to fake it). (Works up to 3 times)
- Tell Thisobald Thorm any tale, including a fabricated one. (Works up to 2 times)
Reithwin Tollhouse
- Select "I bring death" when talking to Gerringothe Thorm.
- Successfully defeat Gerringothe through dialogue.
Gauntlet of Shar
- After interacting with the Pedestal of Reckoning, agree to help Shadowheart with the trials. +1
- Persuade Nessa that her 'love' for Yurgir is the result of being magically dosed.
- Persuade Balthazar to give you the bell to summon Flesh
- With Mother Dearest in your inventory, ask "What happened to your mother?"
- Say "Actually, I have your mother."
- Say "No, I think I'll keep her." +1
- Encourage Shadowheart to to kill the Nightsong.
- Choose to fight Shadowheart when confronting the Nightsong.
Mind Flayer Colony
- Purge the pods in the Tadpoling Centre. +1
- Consume the mind of the githzerai Waking Mind. +1
- Tell the Fresh Mind it will never wake again. +1
Moonrise Towers
- Sever the control Linsella has over the gnolls in the kitchen. +1
- Pass a deception check on Zrell if you chose to spare the goblins at the end of Minthara's trial. +1
- Tell Ketheric Thorm that seeing your enemies cowed never gets old
- When Minthara sits on the throne after defeating Ketheric:
- Say "We make a good team". +10 or say that it suits her. +1
- Propose to take the place of Orin once she's dead. +5
- When Minthara says we could claim their Netherstones, reply "I'm with you". +5
- When Minthara says we could reshape the world, reply "I can hardly wait". +5
- When Minthara asks about the one thing that needs explaining:
- Say that you attacked the Grove to impress her. +3
- Tall her you want to learn more about the tadpole. +10
- Tell her you wanted revenge. +10
- After Minthara gets up from the throne:
- Ask "You respected him?" when discussing Ketheric's death. +1
- When discussing about her encounter with the cult of the Absolute, tell her "He gave you the welcome you felt you deserved." +1
- Then say "You'll have your revenge" on Orin for inserting a tadpole in her. +5
- When talking to Jaheira after killing Ketheric, ask her if she is having fun, then tell her that you're "having the time of your life." +1
Camp/Conversation
- When talking to her about remembering what she did while serving the Absolute respond with “To Lose your free will and be forced to kill. That must be horrible.” +5
- When talking about the time she invaded Moonrise, say that pride can be a great weakness.
- Say that you will help on her revenge.
- Ask if she respects Ketheric. +1
- Tell her "A dangerous upbringing. It made you strong." +1
- When she reaches out to your mind as you approach:
- Say "Only if I can see your thoughts as well." +3
- Say "I'm flattered." or "You're rather special yourself." +3
- If you imagine her as a Lover +10
- If you imagine her as any of the others, except for monster, you can follow up with "I want you too." +10
- As the Dark Urge, when you confess you yearn to kill:
- Tell her "I trust you." when she asks why you confide in her. +5
- Tell her "You misunderstand. I enjoy killing, but I can control myself." when she tells you she fear your bloodlust controls you. +1
Act Three
Act 3 Spoilers! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.
Rivington
- When Yenna approaches the party for the first time:
- As a Ranger, tell her you can try to track down her mum. +1
- Tell her to Get lost. +1
- Offer to find her a guard. +1
- If you told her something else, then give her either coin or food. +1
- Tell the Strange Ox that "It takes more than a bit of gore to turn my gullet." +1
- Orin's disguises:
- Acknowledge to Fist Rowan that both sides need to learn their lesson by killing them all. +1
- Prod the Dying Stone Lord Thug's wound. +1
- Then make him suffer. +1
- State "Without Hesitation" when asked if you could turn your weapon on a friend by Gyldro Angleiron. +1
- Promise to protect her from Orin. +5
- Telling Nestor that you will take a donation.
- Leaving Scratch with Angry Mar'hyah. +1
- Threaten the guard at the checkpoint. +1
- As Origin Astarion, refuse to help Ulma in the Gur Camp. +1
- Use persuasion to extort the postmaster for extra money after finding his missing letters (and reading the one from him to the Zhentarim).
- Ready yourself to fight when challenged by the Steel Watcher at the South Span Checkpoint +1
Circus of the Last Days
- "Boo" at Dribbles the Clown's performance at the Circus. +1
- Tell Dribbles his joke is corny. +1
- Refuse to get onto the stage. +1
- Get onto Dribbles' stage and say what makes you special:
- Your kindness to everyone. +1
- Your courage. +1
- Your strength. +1
- Prompt her to the stage with the drider joke. +1
- Suggest Astarion to get onto the stage. +1
- Suggest Lae'zel to get onto the stage. +2
- Suggest Minsc get on stage +1, then tell him "Go on, Minsc!" +1
- When passing Zethino's trial, choose answers:
- First question: 'Picking off siblings' +2, OR 'Ulaver wine' +1
- Second question: 'Me' +2, OR 'Gods' +2, OR 'Nobody' +1
- Third question: 'Let herself be captured' +2
Open Hand Temple
- Agree with Brother Bill that if Father Logan had been pickier, he might still be alive. +1
- Refuse to take on the curse of the spirit in the amulet. +1
- Resist the madness when accepting the monk's curse after delivering his amulet.
- Note: choosing to take on the monk's curse results in Minthara losing one point of approval, but regaining three points upon successfully resisting the curse. This ends with a net gain of +2.
Angleiron's Cellar
Wyrm's Crossing
- Accept or reject the Deal with the Gnomes quest from Manip Falcäo +1
- When Naaber pretend to be a dog, tell him "But nobody likes Naaber" +1
- Get into Wyrm's Rock via the gate by either: showing the Admission Pass, getting Investigator Valeria's permission, passing a persuasion check and bribing the guard, or passing certain class-related checks. +1
Wyrm's Rock Fortress
- When confronting Fist Reynash in the Flaming Fist barracks:
- Take his gold or get him to reveal his stash. +1
- Tell him to "Get a grip." +1
- If you wake the guards:
- Persuade Manip Bakshi that another Fist was trying to steal from him. +1
- Tell Manip Bakshi "How embarassing. Isn't it your job to catch criminals?" +2
- Ask Manip Bakshi for a reward. +1
- Convince Arkleia Oloril to trade the equipment of the Flaming Fists with you. +1
- Say that you should not trust the Steel Watchers because they will turn on everyone while talking to Lord Amber's Bodyguard, Lady Durinbold's Attendant and Lord Shattershield's Attendant. +1
- As the Dark Urge, during the inauguration and after Gortash explains how he has met you before, reply, "How dare Orin take my place. I'll make her pay." +1
- As the Dark Urge, during the inauguration and after Gortash explains how he has met you before, reply, "I don't remember a thing, but the plan sounds brilliant!" +1
- Pass the Steel Watcher that confronts you at the coronation. +1
- Tell Ravengard that Gortash is a tyrant after probing his mind to discover Florrick's location. +1
- Refuse twice to give Gortash the Netherstones. +1
Devil's Fee
- After visiting the House of Hope, tell Helsik you don't have the Gauntlets, then intimidate her when she demands the fee she initially proposed. +1
Cazador's Dungeon
- Tell Sebastian you have no intention of freeing the spawn. +1
House of Grief
- Tell Arves you've come to collect interest on his debt. +1
- Kill Viconia after interrogating her, if previously she had been knocked out in the battle. +1
Chromatic Scale
Camp/Conversation
- Let her use the Astral-Touched Tadpole. +5
- Acknowledge that children should earn their keep. +3
- When talking about Menzoberranzan, tell her that her upbringing made her strong. +1
- Ask her why not to take the head of the next urchin. +1
- After revealing your origin as the Dark Urge, tell her that she is also exquisite. +5
- Telling Scratch he's back where he belongs after giving him back to Mar'hyah and then freeing him from his cage and letting him escape back to camp.
- Persuade Lae'zel to kneel to Vlaakith when she appears at your camp.
- When asking her if she has seen anything like the Steel Watchers before, tell her you wish you had such devices of your own. +1
- After purchasing a copy of Baldur's Mouth Gazette from a street vendor, ask her what she would do if she ran the paper. +3
- After defeating Orin:
- Tell her "Our fight isn't over yet. Not until we confront the elder brain." or "Few people could face a Chosen of Bhaal. You did.". +3
- When acknowledging that Orin is dead and Minthara has her vengeance, observe that she sounds disheartened. +1
- Finish the vengeance conversation thread with either "You're nothing like Orin" or "She was cruel, maniacal, sadistic. You could have been sisters." +5
Disapproval

- Agree to help Marcus abduct Isobel.
- Tell Isobel she is going to "meet Ketheric face-to-face" when helping Marcus abduct her.
Shadow-Cursed Lands
Gauntlet of Shar
- Lick the suspicious spider carcass.
Moonrise Towers
- Disagree with Minthara's plans of taking over control of the Absolute.
- When Minthara asks why you chose to kill the tieflings in the Grove:
- Tell her you did it to watch them suffer.
- Tell her you enjoy killing.
- Tell her a violent urge is the cause.
Mind Flayer Colony
- Use the Neural Apparatus to release everyone in the Tadpoling Centre.
Camp/Conversation
- After confessing your urge to kill as the Dark Urge, tell her that you fear that you're similar to a qu'lith quarthan. -1
