Arka is a tiefling in Baldur's Gate 3. She is one of the Tiefling Refugees hiding inside the Emerald Grove. She is Kanon's sister and Memnos' close friend.
Involvement
Act One
Arka is initially seen fighting on the Emerald Grove ramparts when the goblin party chases Aradin and his party back to the gates of the Emerald Grove. Her brother, Kanon, is the only tiefling casualty in this fight. He is shot by goblin arrows while trying to open the gate for Aradin and his party. After the conflict resolves, she can be found on top of the ramparts, crying over her dead brother's body as her friend Memnos attempts to console her. Regardless of what the player character says or if they leave the area, Arka will pick up a nearby crossbow and head towards the Makeshift Prison to enact vengeance on the goblin prisoner Sazza.
The execution
The party can find Arka in the Makeshift Prison aiming her crossbow at the goblin Sazza who is in the middle of taunting Arka, while Memnos is trying to talk his friend down. The player character can either stand back and watch the scene play out to its bloody end or intervene and stop the execution by stepping in front of the Crossbow and passing any of the following skillchecks:
- DC 10 Intimidation check
- DC 10 Persuasion check (Two separate rolls)
- DC 12 Detect Thoughts check
If the Detect Thoughts roll fails, both Arka and Memnos gain the Temporarily Hostile status and initiate combat with the party.
If the Intimidation or one of the Persuasion rolls fail, the player character is allowed to make another roll that they did not choose before. If that roll is also failed, both Arka and Memnos become hostile.
If successful, the party is awarded with the survival of Sazza, and down the line, Arka herself.
If she is talked out of seeking revenge, she can be found mourning with Memnos over Kanon's new grave after the defeat of the goblins in the Goblin Camp.
If she is not talked out of seeking revenge and is allowed to kill Sazza her dead body can be found in the Forest at X: -44 Y: 408, just east of the Goblin Camp.
If the party travels to Mountain Pass or Shadow-Cursed Lands before resolving Kagha's Rite of Thorns, the tieflings will be expelled from the Emerald Grove and Arka's corpse can be found among the bodies of all the other refugees near the bridge to the Blighted Village.
