Torturer Spike is a goblin and follower of the Absolute. He and Lookout Grush torture Liam next to the Bloodied Shrine within the Shattered Sanctum of the Goblin Camp.
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act One[edit | edit source]
When approached, a cutscene plays out where Spike is torturing Liam, and he asks the party if they want to join him. The party can either join in on and / or take over the interrogation, force Spike to leave using their Illithid tadpole, or lie to him telling him they have been relieved. A drow, or a character so disguised, can convince him to leave without an ability check.
If torturing Liam such that he reveals the Emerald Grove's location, Spike then heads to Minthara and informs her, after which she prepares the assault. After informing Minthara, he moves to where Abdirak is and loiters.
If he witnesses a party member undergo the pain ritual, Spike claims he needs to "see it again" and commands Grush to undergo the ritual as well. The party can humorously watch as Grush takes hit after hit, eventually succumbing and getting
