Crooked Wand of Fireballs is a common item that can be used once to cast Fireball at melee range.
You can use an action to cast Fireball from this (broken) wand. All (very) nearby creatures must make a Dexterity Saving Throw. Targets take 8~48 Fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
The metal of this wand is dented all along its shaft, and the tip is bent entirely out of place.
