Image Feedback[edit source]
Hi Raelin!
First up, thank you so much for your edits and contributing to the wiki! We want to give you some feedback and clarification, on how we use images on the wiki.
Image Naming Conventions:
Our images follow a fixed format - Prefix_name_suffix.fileformat.png/.webp
. Right now, your images have their default Windows assigned name. If you are unsure how to change image names when uploading them, shoot me a message and I'm happy to help! Dont worry about the images you've added so far, we'll move those around to match. You can find more info here.
Image Usage:
The goal is for images to be used for informative and educational purpose, not as mere decorations to a page, always focussed on the subject they are representing. As an example, this image, you've added on Wylls page to showcase his lack of horns - and while that is the case, the image shows a lot more, different things at all once, making it difficult to instantly focus on what it shows. You can find more info here.
Modded Content:
The last point is sort of on us, since we've noticed that it isnt specified in our style guides, which is on our to-do to change. But in general, modded content that shows items/colors/etc that isnt available in the base game, should be avoided - unless it's very much in the background. Example here being again the previously mentioned picture, with Minthara wearing a modded armor (at least if I identified it correctly).
None of this is meant as a your contributions are wrong, but a helping hand. We'll correct some of the images you've posted in the coming days and will add the mentioned notes to our images guidelines for clarity. If you have any questions, reach out via our Discord server, reply here to post a message on my talk page!

- Greetings Valk, and thank you for your feedback. A few points, please:
- 1) I can change the names of most of the original files, but will have to read up on how to do it. So I can better know what you're looking for as far as style compliance is concerned, maybe it's better if you do most (I don't think I have that many) so I know what's expected going forward. As with most style guidelines, there should be exceptions, as I make the case for in point two.
- 2) There's already a [Needs Verification] icon next to the point about how Wyll may avoid getting horns for the duration of the game, which I've already done a few times over a few patches. (Totally subjective opinion: I hate Wyll's horns). So, in this instance, if I had put up a picture that was cropped or otherwise altered in any way, it might've given the reader the impression I falsified, doctored or otherwise altered the image. Showing the whole screenshot, and the file naming nomenclature from the screenshot directly from the game, lends weight to my assertion that I didn't. For example, with this image in particular, the following is clear or strongly implied:
- Minthara, Karlach and Wyll are in the picture, proving the party has already progressed to Act Two
- The yellow dots on the mini-map in the upper right hand corner of the picture indicate guards are still present. This proves the attack on Moonrise Towers hasn't happened yet and, therefore, Mizora would not have (normally) been at camp yet - and no longer is now, since the party has progressed to Act Two
- On the left, character icons showing active party members (and applied buffs) lend weight to my assertion no mods have been applied to obtain these results
- In retrospect, after having read your concerns and my reply here, all of the above could have been included in the original description of the picture as it was uploaded, so I did that here. While it seemed unnecessary at the time, I now think this kind of thing should be a "best practice" for future uploads where a picture may be misunderstood and/or otherwise lacks clarity.
- You may have already noticed most of my other pictures are cropped or lack dialogue on the screen which, as you say, may detract from the purpose of the picture, which should be to add material value to the page in question and the wiki as a whole.
- 3) Minthara's colour-coordinated outfit consists of:
- Enraging Heart Garb and Gloves of Belligerent Skies, both with the very rare Gorgeous Maroon Dye
- Disintegrating Night Walkers with the rare Bloody Plum Dye, and the
- Thunderskin Cloak with the rare Pale Pink Dye
- All of which are available in the unmodified version of the game.
- Looking back, I probably should've mentioned the specifics of the gear and dye somewhere in the original picture content from being uploaded, but - again - didn't think it necessary at the time. I made changes there as well.
- 4) It's my intention to be a thoughtful, conscientious contributor that makes a significant difference to the wiki. While new here, I've been the admin for the Neverwinter Nights 2 wiki for about 5 years now and fancy myself as being reasonably good, albeit slow, at written communication. In my opinion, this site looks considerably better, and I find it more enjoyable to make edits on a site where the game is "active" and getting frequent and material updates from the devs. If there's ever a question or concern, or some way I can improve, please let me know, as you've done here.
- 5) Finally, please accept my apologies for any confusion I may have caused, or unhappy deviation from guidelines. As you can see, sometimes it takes several edits for me to communicate clearly, accurately and politely all I wish to say, and in the manner in which I mean to say it. Hopefully, you and others agree it's worth the much-more-than usual edits to justify whatever I've done.
- Thank you again for your feedback.

- Hi Raelin,
- thank you for your reply! Let me get the "simple" points out of the way first.
- 3) Thats on me, I didnt recognize the equipped items! (A few of us didnt, thats on us). So no worries there!
- 4 & 5) My feedback was not meant to critize the edits you've made, we appreciate every single one of them. Thank you for being so open to all of it!
- 1) I'll happily change the image names - if you feel like you wanna read up on it first and have "examples" to try it on, I have no issue leaving them to you!
- Alright, now the long one.
- 2) Looking back at the context in which your picture is used, I understand why you decided to use the image as is. Your note on "falsified, doctored or otherwise altered the image" is valid, although we assume that editors are truthful in their edits. The summary which you added to the image is incredibly helpful and a amazing addition.
- The addition of what characters are wearing are not necessary, as mentioned before, where just my unfamiliarity with some items!
- Side note, if you have "verified" the mentioned "how to get wyll without horns + minthara" - by performing it multiple times in your runs - you have free to remove the [Needs Verification] tag!
- If you have any further notes/questions, feel free to reply.
- Thank you again for all the edits you've made!

Heavy Armour Master[edit source]
Hey Raelin, I saw you reverted your edit but I wanted to add some reasoning as to why I placed the note on the page. I had a discussion with user Pjotr of the East who did not realize that there is a difference between non-magical and magical damage, as tagged in the damage code. Heavy Armour Master states it reduces non-magical damage, but this isn't the whole truth as it only reduces non-magical Slash, Bludgeoning, and Piercing damage. It does not reduce non-magical damage from any of the other element types (fire, lightning, force, etc). I felt this edit was needed to point out that it only affects 3 out of the 13 damage types, despite what the in-game description says. Rydiak (talk) 00:55, 15 January 2025 (CET)
