In my playtrough i multiclassed my Artificer (lvl 5) into a Rogue (lvl 2) and found out the sneak attack took the damage from the lvl 7 rogue,at first i thought it may be the fact that it was a mod class, but later i did the same but with a Bard (lvl 6 and lvl 1 Rogue) and saw that the sneak attack still had 4d6 of damage instead of the 1d6 damage it should have for the rogue level. Now, i have quite a few mods but i dont belive any of them should have affected this, still, if they did, apologies
