* The mastersmith of Avernus, Carixim, who is called the ''soul-stuffed forgemaster of hellish Avernus'', is another well-known being in Avernus. He is mentioned by {{CharLink|Dammon}}: ''When I found Carixim, he turned to me, with all those poor people's souls crammed into him, and he... he grinned at me. He said, "I been expecting you, boy".'' When Elturel was forced down in the hells, Dammon worked under Carixim and learned from him how to forge infernal iron and how to use infernal machinery.
