After meeting [[Lora]] and progressing her quest to [[Save Vanra]], the party can rescue Vanra from [[Auntie Ethel]] in the [[Blushing Mermaid]]. Ethel has eaten Vanra and is planning to let her stew in her belly until she has absorbed enough power to become a hag herself. | |||
Killing Ethel will also kill Vanra unless the party takes steps to prevent it. One way to do so is to craft the {{RarityItem|Hag's Bane}} using ingredients and a recipe acquired from a safe in [[Old Garlow's Place]]. This potion will cause Ethel to become {{cond|nauseous}} and safely throw up Vanra. Alternatively, toggling {{cond|Non-Lethal Damage}} and using unarmed or melee weapon attacks to knock Ethel unconscious will allow the party to cut her open and free Vanra. | |||
Vanra is incredibly traumatized by this experience, quivering and calling for her 'mummy'. After a brief dialogue with the party she will run off to [[Lora's House]] where she can be found with her mother at the end of the quest. | |||
