Akabi is a djinni encountered in Rivington during Act Three of Baldur's Gate 3. He is a performer at the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington, located at -68 where he can be found hosting a Spin the Wheel game.
Involvement
When approached, Akabi will invite the party to participate and Spin the Wheel for 500 gold, loudly promoting the allure of winning the jackpot. Akabi magically rigs his game, guaranteeing that participants will only ever get one of the sixteen largely useless consolation prizes, unless the party manages to cheat the djinn himself.

When approached, Akabi will invite the player to participate and Spin the Wheel for 500 gold, loudly promoting the allure of winning the jackpot. Players that participate will only ever get one of the sixteen largely useless consolation prizes, however.
Winning the jackpot
A successful Perception will reveal that Akabi is cheating, manipulating the wheel to ensure no one wins the jackpot.

Winning the jackpot
He will deny any accusations, offering the interacting party member to simply spin again instead. If provoked, Akabi will shapeshift the talking party member into a cheese wheel for 20 turns. Akabi will refuse to let anyone play who has been transformed by him in this way, but other party members can still participate.

Instead, Akabi will need to be pickpocketed for his Djinni Ring, without which he cannot rig the game. Bards can also distract Akabi (Performance) with either a joke or a well-timed fart and win the jackpot. However, both of these options will permanently lock the party out of winning future consolation prizes.

Winning Akabi's "game" earns the Inspirational Events Cheating the Cheater (Charlatan background) and A Grand Prize! (Sage background).

After, paying 500 gold to play will result in the player winning the jackpot. Akabi will be enraged at the player having cheated, and transport the contestant far to the Jungle, in the distant land of Chult. If the player can survive, they'll find the legendary trident Nyrulna in a locked chest near the portal back to the circus.
Jackpot "prize"
Regardless of how the party member won, Akabi will be enraged and accuse them of cheating. He will transport the contestant, alone, to a Jungle in the distant land of Chult. This is the only way to reach this area and obtain the items within, notably the trident Nyrulna and the ring Band of the Mystic Scoundrel. It is recommended to choose a party member for playing with Akabi, who is very capable at heavy combat or stealth, to survive in the jungle; the best reward possible is through combat and being able to kill every enemy in the jungle for the highest amount of XP.

There is also a Band of the Mystic Scoundrel hidden in the cave to the west of the portal, high above behind a large fallen tree.
Akabi will permanently close down the game if one character wins the jackpot, all characters are turned to cheese, or if all consolation prizes are claimed by spinning the wheel 16 times. it's not possible to obtain all of the consolation prizes and the jackpot as he shuts down the game on the 16th spin. He does not award the jackpot on the final spin if he still has his ring and the bard option isn't used.

*Bards need not even steal or trade for the ring: with a successful check, they can distract Akabi with either a joke or a well-timed fart and win the jackpot. Akabi will accuse the player of cheating anyway.
*Akabi will permanently close down the game if the player attempts to play normally the 17th time. In order to obtain everything, including the jackpot, one must have 8,500 gold in hand, spin the wheel normally 15 times, and on the 16th win the jackpot.
*A book within Akabi's tent reveals that he has an interest in "Cheesomancy," the "Wild Art of Cheese Magic." If the player accuses him of cheating but doesn't pickpocket him, he polymorph them into a wheel of cheese for 20 rounds.
*The spent gold can be pickpocketed back, with a Sleight of Hand.
