Notes

  • This condition can be removed with Revivify Revivify, Scroll of Revivify, Scroll of True Resurrection or through Withers' services.
    • Non-playable characters cannot be revived after dying.
    • Normally, companions, temporary companions and playable characters can be revived. However, most cannot be if they have not been recruited first, or die as a result of certain plot-lines in the game. Listed below are known scenarios where death is permanent:
      • Wyll Wyll dies during the goblin assault on the Grove gate Grove gate.
      • Karlach Karlach is killed as part of Wyll's questline, before or after being admitted to the party.
      • Wyll is killed by Karlach during a cut-scene confrontation just prior to long-resting, after both have been recruited.
      • Minthara Minthara is killed while being escorted out of Moonrise Towers Moonrise Towers before being admitted to the party campsite.
      • Halsin Halsin dies while attempting to rescue Thaniel Thaniel from the Shadow Curse.
      • Minsc Minsc is killed during the fight in the Lower City Sewers Lower City Sewers.
    • Alfira Alfira is an exception to the above. Should she be recruited and perish at any point after, she cannot be revived.

Sources of Dead

  • If a playable character or companion fails three Death Saving Throws after being Downed Downed they will become dead.
  • If a non-playable creature reaches zero hit points they will become dead.
