Sharran Sanctuary

From bg3.wiki
The Sharran Sanctuary is a Location within Reithwin Town in Act Two of Baldur's Gate 3.

Accessing the Sharran Sanctuary[edit | edit source]

In Reithwin Town, north of the Moonrise Towers waypoint is a statue of Ketheric Thorm Ketheric Thorm at X: -152 Y: -30. Interacting with the plaques on the statue in the following order: north, west, and then east - opens a hidden staircase on the south side of the statue which leads down into the sanctuary.

The Dark Lady's ritual[edit | edit source]

Inside the sanctuary are three statues the party can interact with. Each may provide a unique blessing of Shar Shar until the next Long Rest:

A DC 14  Saving throw for the corresponding Ability is required at each of the statues in order to receive the Dark Lady's blessing(s). Each blessing is given only once. As a cleric of Shar, Shadowheart Shadowheart can bypass the saving throws using a unique dialogue option which guarantees success. However, if the Aylin Nightsong has been freed, then Shadowheart rolls with Disadvantage. Warlocks also get a special interaction option with Advantage to the Charisma check statue.

Succeeding all three saving throws opens a door to a hidden chamber, where a sacrificial ritual can be performed. It is not necessary for all three saving throws to be made by the same character.

Failing a saving throw results in a debuff condition which lasts until the next Long Rest:

Interacting with the altar in the hidden chamber allows to perform a blood sacrifice ritual to Shar. Completing this ritual reveals some scrolls and potions, as well as earning approval from Shadowheart. The ritual has no negative effects.

Stealing the Ritual Dagger of Shar or attacking any of the Statues of Shar, even after the ritual is successfully completed, triggers combat against a Charismatic Sentinel Charismatic Sentinel, a Wise Sentinel Wise Sentinel and an Intelligent Sentinel Intelligent Sentinel. Taking the dagger also yields disapproval from Shadowheart (unless she is the one picking it up).

If Shadowheart interacts with the statues after freeing the Nightsong, she will have disadvantage on the saving throw(s), which can be countered by having Selûne's Spear of Night equipped for advantage, thereby canceling each other out. Aside from the scrolls and potions that may be revealed, the Ritual Dagger of Shar is the only item in the hidden chamber.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The text of the tablets at the each statue's pedestal is the same, written in Thorass alphabet. It may be translated as "Hear my words as they might be your last. Be careful". One of the tablets is placed upside down.
