Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act One[edit | edit source]

When approaching the Makeshift Prison through the Emerald Grove gateway the first time Sazza will be held at crossbow point by Arka Arka, who seeks vengeance for her dead brother Kanon Kanon. Arka's friend, Memnos Memnos, is attempting to dissuade her from the senseless act of violence. The party can choose to help Sazza by interfering with Arka's plans to shoot her, or let Sazza die by Arka's hands.

If the party choose to help Sazza and then speak with her, she will offer to introduce the party to a powerful healer, Gut True Soul Priestess Gut. Sazza will then be a temporary companion and must be escorted out of the Grove. If doing the Save the Goblin Sazza Save the Goblin Sazza in her favour, then she promises to put in a good word for the party with her tribe, helping to bypass checkpoints at the Goblin Camp and Shattered Sanctum. When meeting Minthara Minthara, she will try to present the party as captives to cover her failures in the raid, but be called out on the fact that the party consists of True Souls. With the threat of punishment looming, the party can decide whether she is killed or imprisoned.

  • If the party speak to Sazza after she is spared a second time, passing a DC 10 Persuasion check can convince her to share the location of a secret cache at X: -133 Y: 398 .
  • If Sazza is not freed and escorted out of the grove, then Save the Goblin Sazza Save the Goblin Sazza will resolve with her death.
  • If all three goblin leaders are killed after Sazza was freed and escorted out of the Grove, she will die instantly upon the third goblin leader's death.
  • If Sazza is freed and Minthara Minthara is not killed but unconscious and the other two goblin leaders are killed, she will remain alive and can be encountered in Act Two.
  • If Sazza is freed after Gut dies and Minthara is knocked out, she stands in Minthara's room and her quest does not continue until a Long Rest, after which Minthara's body disappears. The cut scene still plays and the party can choose to spare Sazza.

Act Two[edit | edit source]

If Sazza lives through Act One, she can reappear at Moonrise Towers in an audience chamber, awaiting judgement with several other Goblins for their failure to secure the Artefact. The party determine whether she is freed or executed with varying degrees of cruelty. If Sazza is freed at Moonrise Towers, an achievement is awarded.

If freed at Moonrise Towers, Sazza and the other goblins flee from the area and are not heard from again. However, the party note in a dialogue option that they likely fell to the Shadow Curse Shadow Curse without access to a Moonlantern.

Epilogue[edit | edit source]

However, if Sazza was spared, a scrap of a letter from her can be found in the Chest of Grateful Words in the Epilogue. It says she has been wandering to find anyone who'd still be devoted to the Absolute (ignorant about her goddess's fall), and ended up in a cage, captured by ornery cat people (probably Tabaxi). In her letter, Sazza asks the player character to save her - again.
