Undercity Ruins , underneath
Baldur's Gate . He will attack the party if they attempt to cross the Manslaughter Chasm.
As part of the "test" to enter the Bhaal Temple , the Farslayer of Bhaal Ghislev surprises the party with a combat encounter. He begins casting a ritual spell to kill the party after a certain number of turns, and his minions including Stropes appear and attack the party as they attempt to cross the bridge to stop Ghislev.
