Dairow Vin

Dairow Vin is an unconscious tiefling who can be found in the Lower City Sewers X: -155 Y: 846 during Act Three. Under the influence of copious sleeping draughts, it is impossible to wake him.

History

Dairow and his husband fled Elturel for a better life. At some point they separated, Dairow taking work with the Guild, and his husband travelling with a group of refugees.

After losing contact with his husband, Dairow contacted guildmaster Nine-Fingers Keene to try and find information on his whereabouts. The Guild were able to track the latest refugees he was travelling with, but after crossing paths with the Absolute's forces, the entire group went missing without a trace.

Grieving the loss and probable death of his husband, Dairow consumed a large quantity of Potion of Sleep, falling into an impenetrable slumber in the city sewers.

His husband is speculated to be the brother of the dead refugee, named Garrett, that can be found by the cliffside in Rivington, which can be learned with File:Portrait Speak with Dead.png Speak with Dead) for two main reasons. The first is that the Our Offer Remains Open note on Dairow Vin's body notes that his husband was also a refugee, and if using Speak with Dead, it is revealed, that he fled from the Absolute's army with his brother. Secondly, and more importantly, on the refugee's body is the Gemless Ring, which when combined with the Ringless Gem, held by Ferg Drogher, creates a Tarnished Ring. If asking Garrett about the ring using Speak with Dead, he will say that the ring belonged to his brother, who died on the road. Furthermore, if pickpocketing or killing Dairow Vin, a similar tarnished ring can be found. This lead sto speculation that Garrett's brother was Dairow's husband, and that the Tarnished Rings were their wedding bands.
