Spar is a named Squirrel in the Emerald Grove in Act One. He can be found next to Alfira Alfira, painfully listening to her sing alongside Corinna Corinna.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

If the party talk to Spar and Corinna without Speak with Animals Speak with Animals, they will both screech and run away.

If the party ask the Squirrels what is wrong, they will describe how awful Alfira's singing is, and the party can respond with a few options, all of which will cause them to leave:

  • It is quite a racket. You could spare your ears by leaving.
  • Sing along with the bard - as loudly and off-key as you can.
  • Don't mock her - she's trying her best... I assume.

If the party tell the Squirrels they are ruining the song, Corinna and Spar will begin a duet. The party can respond with a few options:

  • Bravo. You could go on tour, with talent like that.
  • [BARD] [TIEFLING] Sing along with them, improvising lyrics: 'How can we stop this dreadful song, this half-formed verse from leaden tongue?' Astarion approves +1 Lae'zel approves +1 Karlach disapproves -1
  • [BARD] Sing along with them, improvising lyrics: 'How can we stop this dreadful song, half-formed verse from devil's tongue?' Astarion approves +1 Lae'zel approves +1 Karlach disapproves -1
  • Shut up - I want to hear the bard.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Spar and Corinna's scathing critique of Alfira's performance is likely intended as meta-humor, as they are voiced by the game's performance director and voice director respectively.
