Devastator Stropes is a Hobgoblin member of the Cult of Bhaal found in the Undercity Ruins, underneath Baldur's Gate. He will attack the party if they attempt to cross the Manslaughter Chasm.
Involvement
As part of the "test" to enter the Bhaal Temple, the Farslayer of Bhaal Ghislev will surprise the party with a combat encounter. He will begin casting a ritual spell to kill the party after a certain number of turns, and his minions including Stropes will appear and attack the party as they attempt to cross the bridge to stop Ghislev.
