He is searching for something called the Nightsong, and offers a large reward for finding it.
Involvement
Act One
Lorroakan is first mentioned by Aradin in Act 1, whom the party meets outside of the Druid Grove. Aradin will tell the party about a huge sum of money offered by a wizard, in exchange for a treasure called the Nightsong.
He is also mentioned by Rolan, who is especially proud of the fact that Lorroakan has accepted him as his student, with that being his primary reason for travelling to Baldur's Gate. Gale, however, notes that he's a bit of a cad.
Act Three
Arriving in the city of Baldur's Gate in Act 3, the party is tasked to meet with Lorroakan to find out what he wants with the Nightsong.
Manning the till at Sorcerous Sundries, the party will find Rolan with a bloodied face. A successful Insight check will reveal that, despite his cheerful tone, there's something wrong. If asked about the Nightsong, Rolan will divulge that many people have come to claim Lorroakan's bounty to no avail. He will also warn them about Lorroakan's temper if they plan on bringing him information about the Nightsong.
Heading upstairs, the party will be greeted by Lorroakan's Projection and four portals, one of which is the correct one to transport the party to Lorroakan.
Using the far left portal, the party is teleported to Ramazith's Tower in the Upper City where Lorroakan is using his assistant Miklaur as target practice. Noticing the party, he will question them on whereabouts of the Nightsong.
Lorroakan has been in contact with Ketheric and Balthazar and has searched for Dame Aylin to give himself the same ability of Ketheric's: immortality.[1]
The party can answer truthfully as to the whereabouts of Nightsong, or succeed various Ability Checks to deceive him into believing that she has been killed.
If Aylin is at camp and later informed of Lorrokan's intentions, she will depart for Ramazith's Tower to confront him, despite Isobel's efforts to stop her.
Alternatively, if Lorroakan is successfully deceived, and Aylin is as well, there will be no confrontation.
Helping the Nightsong
If the party side with Aylin, Lorroakan will be joined in battle by one of each elemental type of myrmidon, Miklaur and Krank, all being able to fly at will. His Earth Myrmidon can cast Stoneskin on him, and each myrmidon will unlock one spell slot for him while alive.
Lorroakan's death brings an end to the hunt for Aylin. If the party saved his family during Act 2, Rolan will take over as proprietor of Sorcerous Sundries. Rolan also promises aid for Gather Your Allies, granting during the final battle. If the party haven't, he will die in combat, siding Lorroakan.
Helping Lorroakan
Siding with Lorroakan will cause Aylin to become hostile, summoning four Moonlight Slivers to her aid.
When she is defeated, Lorroakan will subsequently jail Aylin in another soul cage, allowing him his sought-for immortality. Lorroakan will reward the party with 5000 gold, and lend his aid for Gather Your Allies, granting during the final battle (an identical Class Action to Rolan's).
Returning to Isobel, informing her of Aylin's recapture, but deceiving her as to the party's betrayal will cause her to rush to Ramazith's Tower to confront Lorroakan herself.
However, only her corpse will be found when the party travels there, having been killed by Lorroakan off-screen. Aylin, having witnessed the death of her lover occur steps from where she stands imprisoned, will be horrified, and vows to murder the player character, and their descendants, upon her escape. Lorroakan himself makes no mention of the fight.

Notes
- Lorroakan myrmidons have weaker version of weapons compared to other myrmidons encountered throughout the game. They don't have innate elemental damage component and not enchanced. Unique weapon abilities aren't changed.
- Lorroakan first appeared in Murder in Baldur's Gate adventure for the 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons as well as Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus.
- In D&D 5e is the current owner of Ramazith's Tower in Upper City while Sorcerous Sundries belonges to another wizard, Rivalen Blackhand. Lorroakan is broke and has an ever-pressing need for money, and he desperately wants to learn the late wizard Ramazith's secrets of wealth that lie beneath his tower. Lorroakan is eager to hire some adventurers to do it for him.
- It is possible when the Upper City was scrapped early in development, Larian had to move Lorroakan and his storyline to Sorcerous Sundries, making him a wealthy proprietor of both buildings. It is also possible that Sorcerous Vault was initally designed to be Ramazith's Vault as it has tower-like features. The door in the Sorcerous Vault that leads to the Archmage hub is titled "Ramazith"
- If bringing Gale along to meet Lorroakan while proceeding with his quest The Wizard of Waterdeep, the two will bicker over the artifacts they both desire; the Nightsong and the Crown of Karsus.
- He can be questioned by using Speak with Dead to reveal the location of his valuables and how he came to possess Ramazith's tower. He also reveals, very reluctantly, that Rolan is a more powerful wizard than himself.
