In life Abazigal was once a Bhaalspawn and a member of the Five, which was an alliance between five powerful Bhaalspawns formed by [[Echo of Amelyssan|Amelyssan]], Bhaal's high priestess, that sought to slaughter their siblings in exchange for power. Like the rest of the Five, he was defeated by his sibling and fellow Bhaalspawn "Gorion's Ward" and their party at his lair.
When Bhaal was resurrected a century later after Abazigal's death, he brought him back as an Echo to serve in the [[Murder Tribunal]] along with [[Echo of Illasera|Illasera]], [[Echo of Sendai|Sendai]] and Amelyssan.

If killed during the fight with Sarevok his Bhaalspawn Essence: Abazigal Bhaalspawn Essence: Abazigal will cause Sarevok to do maximum damage with all his attacks. Also, his stock cannot be looted after the fight, since he is a spirit and will thus disappear upon death.
