Halfar is a Flaming Fist mercenary and cleric of Ilmater that can be found slain on the footsteps leading into High Hall. Killed by Absolutist forces, Halfar is one of two corpses in the area that can be spoken to with Speak with Dead Speak with Dead, the other one being Lewis Morell.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

At some before the party's arrival, Halfar made his way from the Flaming Fist reserve to High Hall in an attempt to rescue potential survivors fleeing from the Absolutist forces. From there, he witnessed the Netherbrain rise into the sky, and found High Hall's courtyard to be swarming with Absolutist cultists coming from the mountainside.

Halfar was then killed by a Mind Flayer before he could get through the gate, dying in front of the courtyard (X: 253 Y: 72).

Notes and References[edit | edit source]

  1. Halfar is only a cleric in name, as his in-game statistics make him a fighter with Battle Master maneuvers and superiority die.
  2. According to developer's notes, it's likely that Halfar's dialogue was meant to let curious players know that the High Hall is an area swarming with a high density of high-level enemies, and had the intent to encourage them to explore and find a less dangerous route.
