Camp followers are characters that travel with the player’s party and they often remain at camp. Unlike companions, they cannot be asked to join the party.
They usually fulfill certain roles, such as resurrecting dead players or providing lore.
List of camp followers[edit | edit source]
Act One[edit | edit source]
Barcus Wroot
accompanies the party to the Shadow-Cursed Lands if rescued from both the Blighted Village and Grymforge.
Deep GnomeVolothamp Geddarm
a wizard who attempts to remove the tadpole. He can also sell scrolls and camping supplies.
HumanWithers
can be paid to purchase Scrolls of Revivify, revive dead companions, or change a companion's class.
Skeleton
Act Two[edit | edit source]
Arabella,
part of a small questline involving her parents. Will accompany the party until they reach Baldur's Gate.
TieflingThaniel,
part of the quest to lift the Shadow Curse. Will stay until Ketheric Thorm is defeated.
Tiefling
Act Three[edit | edit source]
Arnell Hallowleaf
will stay with his wife if they were rescued by Shadowheart.
High ElfEmmeline Hallowleaf
will stay with her husband if they were rescued by Shadowheart.
HumanDame Aylin
will stay with her girlfriend until the party defeats Lorroakan.
AasimarUlder Ravengard
will stay if he was rescued.
HumanZombie Astarion will stay at his tent if the party fails to save him from Cazador Szarr but casts on him at camp. High Elf Zombie

Oathbreaker Knight
will appear to Paladins who have broken their oath and remain until paid to renew it.

an orphaned owlbear who can eventually help the party defeat the Netherbrain.

- Arabella: Can be found infront of the House of Healing graveyard.
- Barcus Wroot: The party has to first rescue him at Moonhaven and later at Grymforge.
- Volo: Can be found at the Secluded Grove and later rescued from goblins at the Goblin Camp.
- Withers: Can be found and awakened at the Dank Crypt, but will arrive at camp by himself a short ways into Act 1 if not found here.
Pets[edit | edit source]
- Owlbear cub: in a cave near the entrance of Moonhaven. The party has to enter, meet the Owlbear's mother, then leave and enter again. Later, it can be found at the Goblin Camp where the player character can agree to play Chicken Chase or just persuade the goblins to release the cub. It'll take many rests for the Owlbear to arrive.
- Scratch: northeast of Moonhaven.
