== General ==

Deep Rothé (an uninflected term) are common beasts in Faerûn, mostly used as a beef breed and beasts of burden. They are a sub-species of common Rothés, adaptated to live in the Underdark. In appearance Rothé much resemble herd beasts like musk-oxen or yacks and probably bear similar features in temper and behaviour.

== Involvement ==
The [[Underdark]] is the only place in the game where the player might meet these huge and stately animals. They are sentient and can be spoken to via {{SAI|Speak with Animals}}, which may offer a way to resolve a quest that party is currently involved in or provide some details about present and future plot affairs.

There are six beasts of this kind that the party can meet and speak to throughout the game:
* In the [[Ebonlake Grotto]] - Deep Rothé {{coords|54|-89}}
* In the [[Grymforge]] - Deep Rothé, Deep Rothé Calf and Elder Rothé {{coords|-657|402}}
* In the Grymforge - another pair of Deep Rothé clearing the debris {{coords|-670|441}}

One of common supplies that the player may find around or buy from traders throughout the game is [[Grilled Rothé Ribs]].
