Hail of Thorns is a level 1 conjuration spell. This spell allows the caster to make a ranged attack that creates a
Piercing damage explosion in addition to dealing normal weapon damage.
Piercing damage to the target and surrounding creatures. On miss, the thorns still explode. On save, targets still take half damage from the explosion.

Notes
- There are two rolls involved with this spell: An
Attack roll to determine if the weapon damage applies to the main target and a
Dexterity saving throw to determine if the explosion damage is halved.
- The hit chance shown in the preview when targeting the spell is for the saving throw rather than the attack roll.
- Despite involving an attack roll and weapon damage, Hail of Thorns does not count as a weapon attack and does not activate abilities like or .
Bugs
- The damage tooltip for Hail of Thorns displays it benefitting from weapon damage increasing effects, such as , but none of these effects function.
