Cerys

From bg3.wiki

Cerys is an asmodeus tiefling scout travelling with a group of tiefling refugees. She can be found during certain events in Act One if some specific characters are dead, or more usually at Last Light Inn during Act Two.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act One[edit | edit source]

Cerys typically doesn't appear until Act Two. However she serves as a failsafe in Act One in case both Zevlor Zevlor and Asharak Asharak have died, but the game requires a tiefling leader to trigger certain events like Raid the Grove Raid the Grove, or starting the party at Camp after Defeat the Goblins Defeat the Goblins.

Successfully defending the Emerald Grove from Minthara Minthara's raid will have Cerys run in from outside out of breath, calling for either Zevlor or Asharak, and forcing dialogue with the party. The party can tell Cerys of the previous leaders' fates, to which she'd react with dismay. If the goblins' leaders have been killed, Cerys will instead be waiting with the rest of the tieflings at the grove's entrance, telling the party that she noticed them clearing the Goblin Camp but found Zevlor dead back home as well. In either case, she immediately takes charge of the remaining tiefling survivors, and rewards the party for their deeds.

Act Two[edit | edit source]

If the tiefling refugees have been rescued and are on the road to Baldur's Gate, Cerys will be at Last Light Inn with the remaining tiefling survivors. Talking with her will reveal that Zevlor betrayed them[note 1] by surrendering to the Absolute, and that she and a few others fled to the Last Light Inn for safety while the rest were either killed or captured. She will ask the party to help look for the tieflings who were captured and taken to Moonrise Towers.

It is also revealed from here that Cerys was the scout responsible for finding their passage to Baldur's Gate, but the road had turned out to be one that led directly to the Shadow-Cursed Lands, and by extension, the Cult of the Absolute's main base of power in Moonrise Towers.

Upon rescuing the tieflings from Moonrise, Cerys will thank the player. After Moonrise Towers is cleared and Ketheric Thorm Ketheric Thorm vanquished, Cerys can be found behind Moonrise Towers' throne room, scavenging supplies and preparing for the remainder of the road ahead. She can be told about Zevlor's fate if he was encountered and saved from the Mind Flayer Colony, to which she'd react with anger, or be told that he died (even if rescued), to which she'd react with remorseful upset.

Act Three[edit | edit source]

Cerys will be at the Refugee Camp in Rivington with the remaining tiefling refugees. She can be told about Zevlor's fate if he was encountered in the Mind Flayer Colony if it wasn't done already in Act Two.

Related Quests[edit | edit source]

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. This is the case even if Zevlor Zevlor perished in Act One.
  • Should the party trigger the Grove Defense and knock Minthara Minthara out, upon recruiting her later in Act Two a bug occurs where Cerys is pulled into every combat encounter Minthara is present regardless of where the party is on the map. This persists into Act Three with the only fix as of Patch 7 being to either kill her or never take Minthara in your party. This bug does not occur if Minthara is knocked out at the Goblin Camp instead.
