What is the convention for DC when it depends on the source?[edit source]
Poison Cloud can have different DC depending on how it was made. At the moment it shows wrong DC in Poisonous Slime Bomb article, in which it should be Spell DC instead of 11. Should we just leave DC value out in this article? If so, is it possible to modify that value in Poisonous Slime Bomb article? Pjotr of the East (talk) 20:22, 21 January 2025 (CET)
- Right now the way it works, there's a bit of scripting so if an area shows up under any Spell page or Weapon Action page, it will automatically override the DC with "Spell Save DC".
- Item pages might depend on how the item is used (e.g. thrown vs exploded) so they don't automatically say "Spell Save DC", and instead default to the area's normal DC. There's no way to override it currently. Can you check to see in which cases it uses the player's Spell DC? HiddenDragon (talk) 22:51, 21 January 2025 (CET)
- Basic Poison uses area DC for Poison Cloud if it is thrown and also if it exploded (placed for example of Fire surface or shot with ranged weapon). (There is also the blast, and it uses also DC 11.) Poisonous Slime Bomb uses Spell Save DC both when thrown and exploded (and there is no blast).
- There is also the old note in this page that states that when used by a NPC, the DC is Spell Save DC, which seems to imply that it's so also for Basic Poison. I think this is just a confusion because of the different DCs for Basic Poison and Poisonous Slime Bomb and that actually the DC for Poison Cloud from Basic Poison is also 11 when made by a NPC. I don't know where to test this though. Pjotr of the East (talk) 23:34, 27 January 2025 (CET)
