Companion's Bond is a Beast Master Ranger passive feature that enhances your companion.

Description

Your Ranger's Companions Ranger's Companions receive a bonus to Armour Class Armour Class and damage equal to its[See Notes] Proficiency Bonus Proficiency Bonus.

How to learn

Notes

  • The in-game description says that the bonus scales with "your" (i.e. the Beast Master's) proficiency bonus, but in fact it uses the animal companion's proficiency bonus. This means the bonus will not increase to +4 until the final level 11 upgrade to your animal companion rather than at character level 9.
  • If a beast companion is already active when the Ranger levels up to level 5, it receives this feature's upgrades and appearance change immediately. The Ranger does not need to re-summon it.
