Dearest father,


Greetings from Calimport. What sights have dazzled my eyes, and what tunes have tickled my ears! I have heard the most astonishing music from an instrument called a slitherhorn - snakeskin stretched into the shape of a flute, first dried then polished to incredible sheen. It emits the most peculiar reedy sound, and I cannot wait to play it for you myself.


It will be soon, I promise. I'm terribly homesick, and for that, I know only one cure.
